The San Antonio Business Journal recognized Bill Cox for his innovative leadership.
President and CEO William T. "Bill" Cox, Jr. was a recent recipient of San Antonio Business Journal's 2019 C-Suite Award. This award honors "innovative and effective CEOs and other C-level executives at for-profit companies" (San Antonio Business Journal). Cox, who grew the company from a few dozen employees to over 170 in the decades that he has been President, has navigated significant changes in manufacturing technology and economy to build an organization that has made the Inc. 5000 list multiple times. Mr. Cox is also a long-active member of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association and has aided in developing San Antonio's future workforce by engaging with local schools.
When interviewed by the San Antonio Business Journal, Mr. Cox divulged some of his strategies and inspirations in the workplace. He emphasized the importance of "MBWA management" (management by walking around), a tool that allows his employees to interact with him on a daily basis as he can be seen throughout the Cox Manufacturing campus. He cites God's word as an inspiration in life and in business, as well as his mother, a "prudent and gracious businesswoman" that assisted him in running the company when he became president at a young age.
The award ceremony took place on September 19th in San Antonio's historic Pearl Stable. Bill Cox was one of nine CEO-level recipients recognized for executive corporate leadership.
