September's wellness education consisted of two cooking demonstrations by Cox employees.
Cox Manufacturing provides monthly wellness education meetings, each with a focus on some aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. September's wellness consisted of two quick and easy cooking demos, presented by Cox employees Sean, Jessica, Victoria, and Jacob. The live food demos illustrated the ease and cost efficiency of healthy meals made from scratch.
The presentation was bolstered with videos by PragerU and Dr. Eric Berg, DC, debunking the myths of a high-cholesterol diet being linked to poor health. Sean and Jessica Althaus also discussed healthy portioning, the updated vegetable-based plate diagram, and cheaper protein and carbohydrate ingredient substitutes, while Victoria and Jacob Prangner shared shopping and meal prepping strategies.
At the end of the presentation, employees were invited to sample the salmon and chicken dishes, as well as a homemade sugar-free dessert option.
