Cox Manufacturing sponsored SAMA's annual manufacturing trade show this week.
Cox Manufacturing Company was the presenting sponsor for the San Antonio Manufacturers Association's ("SAMA") South Central Texas Manufacturing Trade Show and Conference 2019. A long-time SAMA member and repeat presenting sponsor, Cox is proud to share the "Come and Make It in Texas" theme of the 2019 show. This year, manufacturers and vendors met in San Antonio, Texas to find ways to cut operational costs, expand business, and network with hundreds of fellow industrial decision-makers, while nurturing the theme of Texas manufacturing.
SAMA welcomed Fulbright Scholar, Professor of Communication at the University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley, and proud Texas historian, W. F. Strong as keynote speaker for the morning's "Great Moments in Texas History" conference. Strong delved into the Texas history events that revolved around manufacturing feats, crediting the significance of iconic manufactured products, from the Bowie knife and Colt Walker revolver, to Pioneer's milled flour.
A later mini-conference was presented by Nissei Plastic Machinery, a Japanese injection molding machinery subsidiary. Their presentation, "Why Texas For Our Company?" explained why San Antonio, Texas was the perfect location to open their third production facility outside of Japan, citing factors such as the recent increase in local automotive manufacturing, the Texan state tax regime, and low risk of natural disasters compared to other areas in Texas.
Hundreds of attendees and exhibitors enjoyed these conferences and networking during the trade show, utilizing the Whova app for the second year in a row. Individuals were also invited to participate in social media activities, taking photos and uploading them to social media accounts with the hashtag "#ComeAndMakeItTx19" to celebrate and spread the news about the trade show, as well as get the chance to win numerous door prizes.
