November's wellness education addressed the benefits and risks associated with intermittent fasting.
Cox Manufacturing provides monthly wellness education meetings for employees, each with a focus on some aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. November's wellness addressed the benefits and risks of intermittent fasting. The education was lead by training coordinator Sean Althaus, who provided encouragement and personal experience with intermittent fasting ("IF"). He also explained the differences between prolonged and intermittent fasting, and suggested which situations employees could fast during to profit from both.
Among the benefits discussed were reduced inflammation, muscle retention, storage fat burn, anti-aging, and increased energy, mental health, and clarity. Employees were taught when to best utilize intermittent fasting periods to achieve these benefits.
At the end of the meeting, Sean provided paper resources as well as several video links related to intermittent fasting.
