January's wellness education was presented by Drs. Peter and Sheeba Paily of Malta Medical Ministry.
Cox Manufacturing provides monthly wellness education meetings for employees, each with a focus on some aspect of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. January's wellness addressed the benefits of lowering sugar consumption. The education was presented by Drs. Peter and Sheeba Paily, the doctors behind Malta Medical Ministry in Universal City, Texas. New and veteran employees were engaged in and appreciated the doctors' charismatic presentation.
While the dangers of a sugary diet were known to most, the Drs. illuminated the more hidden risks and ensured employees that simply lowering the consumption of sugars had innumerable benefits. Among the more obvious benefits discussed were weight loss and dental health, but also expanded to longterm health benefits, such as aging slower, improving liver and kidney health, and lowering the risks of cancer, diabetes, and heart attack.
The Malta Medical Ministry doctors wrapped up the presentation with baby steps on how to start lowering sugar intake, such as switching out or substituting processed snacks with fruits and healthy portable foods, avoiding processed foods as much as possible, and dropping alcohol and soda consumption and smoking.
