Machinist Apprentice


Cox Manufacturing is seeking individuals ready for a high-skilled, in-demand career. Cox Apprentices enjoy working with their hands ALL day, and enjoy learning to solve new problems EVERY day. As an apprentice, you will learn how to create precision parts that go into complex products such as medical equipment, electronics, firearms, and more.

The Cox Apprenticeship is not an unpaid internship. While you are learning, you are earning full-time pay and benefits. The more problems you learn how to solve, the more you will progress within our state-of-the-art, advanced manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and setup production machines
  • Inspect parts for conformance
  • Work as a team to run production and solve issues

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED (or GED equivalent)
  • Must be able to work 1st shift, and at least one of the off shifts (2nd / 3rd)
  • Must pass: math test (6th grade equivalent), drug test, and background check
  • Note: prior experience is not required

Pay Progression

  • Year 1 (no experience): $16.00/hr minimum
  • Year 2: $18.00/hr minimum
  • Year 3: $19.00/hr minimum
  • Apprentice Graduate $22.00/hr +

Extras

  • Extra $1.00/hr for learning specific machinery
  • Extra $1.50 - $2.00/hr for working an off shift
  • 2nd shift is 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm
  • 3rd shift is 11:00 pm – 7:30 am

Note: New apprentices must start initial training on 1st shift

Preventative Maintenance Specialist


The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Specialist is tasked with performing ordinary and repetitive maintenance and cleaning of production machinery and support equipment.

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift- 7:00am – 4:00pm with some overtime
  • Monday – Friday (some Saturdays),

Responsibilities:

  • Productive maintenance of chip filtering and coolant delivery systems of various metal cutting machine tools:
  1. Removal of chips from coolant sumps
  2. Filtering of coolant
  3. Replacement of coolant
  4. Cleaning or replacement of coolant filters
  • Cleaning of various types of production machinery
  • Cleaning of oscillating fans in production areas
  • Cleaning of mist collectors on individual machines
  • Changing air conditioning filters throughout the plant on a regular schedule.
  • Routine and ordinary productive maintenance of FireTrace systems on machine tools.
  • Other ordinary and repetitive productive maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed by supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must pass: Math Test (6th grade equivalent), Drug and Vision Exam and Background Check

Pay:

$17.00/Hour

 

 

 

Custodian


Cox Manufacturing is seeking a highly energetic and self-motivated individual to join our Custodial team and assist with maintaining a clean, organized, professional and productive work space.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Saturday (when necessary)

Responsibilities:

  • Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • Cleaning fixtures and other building facilities.
  • Disposing of trash and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Performing minor repairs.
  • Keeping buildings free from indoor pests.
  • Maintaining cleaning equipment.
  • Maintaining inventory of cleaning agents and equipment.
  • Scrubbing and sanitizing restroom facilities.
  • Keeping custodian closets clean and organized.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Physically able to: Stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, reach, crouch, see, hear and talk, for 8 or more hours per day
  • Able to operate a walk behind floor scrubber.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must Pass: Math test (6th grade equivalent), Vision test, Drug test, and background check

Pay

  • $15.00/hr.

 

Experienced Maintenance Technician


We are seeking an individual who is a problem solver and enjoys a challenge. This individual would understand the electronic, mechanical, and electrical aspects of CNC machines and continuously learning how precision machines work.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday (some Saturdays), 40+ hours per week, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm

Responsibilites:

Maintain and repair production equipment

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls

Perform facilities maintenance

Perform general physical activities that require standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, twisting and kneeling

Consistently lift and move 35+ lbs.

Navigate basic computer software

Troubleshoot controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical problems on production equipment

Facilities maintenance

Minimum Requirements

Familiar with general shop hand tools

Good attention to detail

Able to work individually and in a team setting

Blueprint reading

High school diploma or GED (or GED equivalent)

Pass: math test (6th grade equivalent), vision test, drug test, and background check

Shipping Clerk


Cox Manufacturing is seeking a highly organized, dedicated Shipping Clerk to assist in our fast-paced Shipping Department. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment while supporting staff and maintaining productive operations.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday (some Saturdays), 40+ hours per week

  • 1st Shift 7:00 am – 4:00pm
  • 2nd Shift 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm (shift hours vary based on volume)

Responsibilities:

  • Sorting parts
  • Packaging parts
  • Parts washing
  • Shipping parts
  • Receiving

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be available to work 1st shift and off shifts (2nd or 3rd)
  • Continuous walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting throughout the scheduled shift
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs or more on a consistent basis 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team 
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
  • Able to pass a math test (6th-grade equivalent), vision test, drug test, physical performance test and background check

Pay

  • $17.00/hr.

Material Handler


Cox Manufacturing is seeking a Material Handler to assist in maintaining the material system in a timely manner to support production staff.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 1st shift 7:00am - 4:00pm / 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Saturday (when necessary)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining the material system
  • Receive, inspect, tag, color code, store, and move material properly to ensure that material is at the machine in a timely manner and does not cause damage to the material or machine
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers
  • Process scrap materials
  • Operate and maintain belt sander
  • Operate and maintain circular/chop saw
  • Operating a forklift, recharging forklift
  • Maintaining a clean work environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • Stable work history
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to work individually and in a team setting
  • High school diploma or GED

The Front Office Administrator for Cox Manufacturing is expected to have a willingness to model the Cox values of Teamwork, Continuous Improvement and Perseverance – this will be demonstrated in their approach taken to complete daily tasks as well as in serving our employees, clients, and any individual that connects with us.

The key to success in this role is taking responsibility and being accountable for various facets of managing our front office.  We expect it to be done with a high level of professionalism and respect.

What can you expect to do each day?

  • Greet any individual who comes to our office or connects with us via a telephone call with great care, professionalism, and respect- this is critical and a priority for this role
  • Respond with a willingness and sense of urgency to any requests and concerns made by an employee, client and/or any guest - this is equally critical and a priority for this role
  • Conduct a daily inspection of the cleanliness and orderliness to the front office area
  • Champion, with the Human Resources team, any task related to the selection and recruiting process such as updating applicant log, sending messages to candidates as well as assist with scheduling interviews, shop tours, and group tours – another way to share the Cox values to those connecting with us!
  • Assist with the creation, development and maintenance of various reports using MS Office Suite and other proprietary software, this includes using advanced functions and analysis of the data as well.  These will be mainly in support of the Human Resources team
  • Update employee attendance records in our time and attendance system with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in the many events offered such as Life Learner, Dave Ramsey, and any other company event

What do we expect from you?

  • High level of professionalism and demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional interpersonal relationships from current and/or previous experiences
  • Incredibly proficient in both entry level and more advanced functions within the MS Office Suite- this is key for our reports and in the tracking and analysis of data
  • Highly organized and detail oriented in performing administrative tasks; must have a high level of accuracy, too
  • Ability to be flexible to changes in assigned tasks, as priorities can and do change
  • Proactive approach to tasks and daily work
  • A willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed to support multiple department

Pay:

$18.00 per hour*

*This is the minimum starting pay rate.  Consideration for higher pay rate will be based on experience within a similar role.

Shop Laborer


Cox Manufacturing is seeking a Shop Laborer to assist with various tasks throughout the shop.

Schedule:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 1st shift 7:00am - 4:00pm / 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • Saturday (when necessary)

Responsibilities:

  • Clean up worksites from various debris and material
  • Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor tasks 
  • Assist welders, contractors or other tradespeople on-site, and maintenance personnel
  • Handle and transport materials (e.g. scrap shavings) and equipment (e.g. drills and grinders)
  • Use power tools and machinery (e.g. forklifts), as needed or requested
  • Put up warning signs (e.g., cones) for vehicles and passersby
  • Help with setting up and transferring machines and equipment
  • Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions

Quailifications:

  • Must be able to work 1st shift (7 am to 4 pm) and an off shift, as workload demands (2nd or 3rd shift)
  • Continuous walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting throughout the scheduled shift
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs or more on a consistent basis - lifting includes boxes with parts, shipping materials, moving boxes to carts for loading and unloading
  • Ability to work independently and within a team 
  • High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
  • Able to pass a math test (6th-grade equivalent), vision test, drug test, physical performance test and background check

Pay

  • $17.00/hr
